Alarm Engineering was proud to continue our support of Salisbury’s National Night Out event held annually in City Park.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Together, we are making that happen.
A great time was had by all at this free event which featured prizes, games, music and fun. If you didn’t get a free McGruff Safety Kit and McGruff Bully Kit, stop by our office to grab one.

The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore celebrated their new offices at a Salisbury Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting event on November 6. The dedicated seven person staff and volunteers had outgrown their previous space in the E.S. Atkins building and moved next door into the old QSS space. With some amazing work from many vendors including Gillis Gilkerson, their space was transformed and move-in ready in 45 days.
The United Way’s mission is: “To increase the organized capacity for people to care for one another.” With their new space, the United Way was in need of security and access control. We, along with many local vendors, stepped in to help this important nonprofit organization that helps so many others in our community.
Alarm Engineering donated and installed a full security system with integrated proximity access control and high definition IP cameras. This state of the art access control system allows easy access into the building and entry into specified areas for staff and volunteers. The integrated IP video surveillance system ensures that the United Way’s Executive Director knows exactly what’s happening at the United Way at all times.
For 70 years, the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore provides critical support for our neighbors in need in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, and Dorchester Counties. The organization, which is the largest non-governmental source of fu0nding for area nonprofit agencies, provides support for 57 different local programs with a special focus on education, income and health. This year alone, the United Way is impacting the lives of over 100,000 people on the Lower Shore by providing over $1.3 million in funding to 24 local agencies.

Helping Delmarva Update – Salisbury Urban Ministries Recently, Alarm Engineering donated and installed a security system at Salisbury Urban Ministries after a break-in they experienced. Salisbury Urban Ministries services Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties and their Mission is to develop and implement programs that serve and minister to the needs of materially impoverished people and to promote concern for racial understanding and appreciation of all people regardless of their economic condition.
If you haven’t heard of them, SUM began in 1992 after clergy and laity met together to develop programs for the community’s materially impoverished. SUM became a United Way Agency in 2000 and received the Community Foundation’s Richard A. Henson Foundation Award for Excellence in 2001. In June of 2011, SUM received the Kim Jefferson Award for outstanding urban ministry.
