Lee Smith Joins the Alarm Engineering Team

Locally owned Alarm Engineering welcomes Lee Smith to the team as our Wicomico County Systems Specialist!  Lee is an Eastern Shore native, a fishing enthusiast and enjoys playing softball.  He has lived in Salisbury for 33 years with his wife Debbie and daughter Kristen. 

Lee brings over 25 years of Fire Service with the Salisbury Fire Department. This background and his experience with fire panels and systems offer a unique and valuable foundation to his Systems Specialist role here at Alarm Engineering.

In addition, Lee has 33 years of management and sales experience in the office supply industry, where he served as a Major Account Manager and Sales Manager, with a strong customer service focus.

Alarm Engineering Voted Coastal Style’s Best Of Home Security Provider 2013 

Alarm Engineering was voted Best Home Security Provider 2013 for Sussex, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties in the Inaugural Coastal Style Best Of Competition. Coastal Style Magazine received votes in 198 categories to find the Eastern Shore’s very best in dining, entertaining, fashion, home, services, and more. 

The Best Of Party will be held at one of our customers, Sunset Grille in West Ocean City, on October 4, 2013 from 5:30-10:00. The Best Of Party will feature live entertainment by 50 East, Paul Cullen and Tom Satori and will include food, beer and wine samples and specials from the Best Of winners and much more!

National Night Out in Salisbury

A great time was had by all at Salisbury’s National Night Out celebration at City Park on Tuesday, August 6!  Alarm Engineering and thirty other local organizations participated in this Salisbury Police Department event. Food, games, prizes, safety information and FUN were found at this free family friendly event, reinforcing solidarity between law enforcement and communities.

McGruff joins the team!

We gave away lots of free Safe Kids ID kits, which include safety games and information for kids and parents, a fingerprint kit and even a DNA collection kit.  If you would like a Safe Kids ID kit for the children in your life, just drop by our office, the kits are available in our lobby.

Congratulations to Our Winner!

Salisbury National Night Out is Coming!

Gary Zlock Joins the Alarm Engineering Team

Alarm Engineering welcomes Gary Zlock to our team. In his Systems Specialist role, Gary works closely with residential, commercial and industrial customers in Caroline, New Castle, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne, Talbot, and Dorchester counties with security, life safety, video, automation solutions and more!

Gary brings many years of experience in construction, including the creation and management of his own Construction Management company. In that capacity, Gary has lead numerous building projects locally, with large focus on the Delaware beach area. Born and raised on the Eastern Shore and a Salisbury University alumnus, Gary lives with his wife Donna in Williston, MD.

Gary’s focus will be the expansion of our base in the upper Eastern Shore of Delaware and Maryland.

LAS VEGAS — Electronic security professionals arrived at Security Sales and Integration’s (SSI) 18th Annual SAMMY Awards in Las Vegas on April 9 to honor the industry’s top sales, marketing, business and installation practices. Alarm Engineering was selected as the winner in the Best Display Advertisement category by SSI.

The SAMMY Awards program is the only one of its kind in the industry to recognize and honor installing security dealers and integrators for specific accomplishments as well as overall excellence. The panel of judges who evaluated the many entries submitted over North America are among the industry’s top marketing and PR professionals.

The winning advertisement recently appeared in the January/February 2013 Coastal Style magazine and will be appearing again in the May/June 2013 Coastal Style edition.

Alarm Engineering selected as SAMMY Award Finalist

Salisbury, MD – Locally owned Alarm Engineering has been selected as an 18th Annual SAMMY Award Finalist by Security Sales and Integration (SSI). Employee Spotlight: Mike Chance, Service Manager

If you have ever called our Service Department, “chances” are you’ve spoken with Mike. In his Service Manager role, he works closely with technicians in the field and our customers who contact us with questions or issues.

About Mike

Mike started working part time with Mr. Boltz back in 1979 for Phil’s TV and Appliances. By 1985 when Alarm Engineering opened, Mike was working full time as an installation technician.  He worked his way up through the organization, and Mike as been leading our Service Team for 9 years now.  Mike always delivers a quick solution with a smile, both to our customers and here in the office. Thank you Mike, for your years of service to the Alarm Engineering family and we look forward to many more to come!

Outside of Alarm Engineering, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife of 35 years, Janice and three children Melissa, Stephen and Darrel.  Now that the kids are grown though, Mike is able to indulge his love of hot rods!  He is always working on a car or truck and spends much of his time at regional car shows showing off his latest project.  Mike says simply: “I was raised on it!”
