Have You Set Up Your Security System Passcode?

A Passcode is not the same as the codes you punch into your keypad to arm or disarm, it is a single word that your family or your employees can easily remember but an intruder could not guess. You were prompted to create a Passcode when you set up your account. We guided you to select a single word and not numbers, though some customers want to set up numbers.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Passcodes

DO:

  1. Set up a Passcode for your account that your family or employees will know but is not easy for a burglar to guess. Never use your or your businesses name or address as a passcode!
  2. Make sure your Passcode is in a safe hidden place that is easily accessible when you need to make changes on your account.

DON’T:

  1. Write your Passcode on or near your keypad in your home or business. If someone breaks in, they likely will be looking for this information to cancel the alarm.
  2. Give workers or temporary help your Passcode. Instead, upgrade your system to allow for custom user codes you can easily turn off when that worker is no longer authorized to access your property. With our current Customer Loyalty Promotion, you can save towards that upgrade.
