Our Customers Say

“I was a police officer in New Jersey. I went up thru the ranks and made it to chief of detectives of a county prosecutor’s office. Being involved in law enforcement for 25 years I have seen many burglaries and strong arm robberies. We lived in rural Hunterdon County in New Jersey, a very affluent area. Even while living there I had an alarm installed in my home. Once I retired in 2008, we began looking to move to Delaware. In 2011 we built a new home in Delaware. Even though this area is very nice, I felt based on my law enforcement experience I still needed an alarm in my home. From speaking to one of my neighbors he recommended Alarm Engineering for the alarm. I contacted David Mueller and he quickly made time to come to my home and explain all of my options for the alarm installation. The price was good and the components he recommended were just what we needed, so we went ahead and had it installed. Since we have had the alarm, we only had one issue with a faulty window switch that caused an activation. I contacted David and that afternoon a technician came to my residence and correct the problem.

Within the past few weeks I contacted David again and asked if there was any options to remotely control the alarm system from my phone. He recommended a cellular device to be added to my existing system. We went ahead and had it installed. I don’t know why I did not get it installed with my initial installation. This device is great. I am very pleased with my system and the company that did the installation.

Alarm Engineering is a great company to deal with and David Mueller is a really down to earth kind of guy, no high pressure sales and always gets back to you right away.I am a very pleased customer and would recommend Alarm Engineering to anyone looking to have an alarm installed.”

-Sincerely, Sam D. in Millsboro, DE (customer since 2012)

Have You Set Up Your Security System Passcode?

Does your Security System have a Passcode?

Security System Passcodes are an easy tool for each Alarm Engineering customer to cancel a false alarm without having to find the little black and white Account ID card you were given on installation day.

Too often, people keep their Account ID out on the fridge or next to their keypad because it’s hard to remember. Bad idea! This valuable ID can be used cancel false alarms but is also used to make changes to your call list or any account information. Having this Account ID guarantees to our team that it is indeed you calling in to ask questions or make changes to your account.

This is where your Passcode comes in…

A Passcode is not the same as the codes you punch into your keypad to arm or disarm, it is a single word that your family or your employees can easily remember but an intruder could not guess. A passcode only cancels false alarms, and does not give the bearer the authority change anything else on your account.

Don’t have a Passcode yet or don’t remember what your Passcode it is? Call in today with your Account ID and our team will walk you through it, or click here.  Remember, you won’t hear an auto-attendant here because we believe each of our customers should speak to a knowledgeable team member right away, not get caught up in an automated black hole.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Passcodes and Account IDs:

  1. Set up a passcode for your account that your family or employees will know but is not easy for a burglar to guess. Never use your or your businesses name or address as a passcode!
  2. Make sure your Account ID in a safe hidden place that is easily accessible when you need to make changes on your account.

  1. Write your Passcode or Account ID on or near your keypad in your home or business. If someone breaks in, they likely will be looking for this information to cancel the alarm.
  2. Give workers or temporary help your Passcode. Instead, upgrade your system to allow for custom user codes you can easily turn off when that worker is no longer authorized to access your property. With our current Customer Loyalty Promotion, many customers have already upgraded for free.
